WASHINGTON, USA – US president Donald Trump late Tuesday pulled back on his threats to attack Iranian bridges, power plants and other civilian targets, agreed to a two-week ceasefire with Iran per a statement from the White House Tuesday evening:

Subject to Iran agreeing to a two-week ceasefire and reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, reportedly, the Iran’s Supreme National Supreme Council, published a list:
- The US must fundamentally commit to guaranteeing non-aggression.
- Continuation of Iran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz.
- Acceptance that Iran can enrich uranium for its nuclear program
- Removal of all primary sanctions on Iran.
- Removal of all secondary sanctions against foreign entities that do business with Iranian institutions).
- End of all United Security Council resolutions targeting Iran.
- End of all International Atomic Energy Agency resolutions on Iran’s nuclear program.
- Compensation payment to Iran for war damage.
- Withdrawal of US combat forces from the region.
- Cease-fire on all fronts, including Israel’s conflict with Hezbollah in Lebanon.
Trump had warned that failure to reopen the Strait of Hormuz 08:00 pm Tuesday evening would “rain hell” on Tehran and that a “whole civilisation will die tonight.”
The Strait of Hormuz controls a fifth of the world’s oil transportation network. Iran has presented “a workable basis on which to negotiate,” said Trump. “ A two-week period will allow the agreement to be finalised and consummated.”
