Foxy Brown Reportedly Recording New Music, Says Cormega

This post was originally published on this site.

Foxy Brown might be coming back. The Brooklyn legend is reportedly putting the finishing touches on new music. If that’s true, the entire conversation around women in Hip-Hop could get a serious shake-up. Oh yes.

Not everybody has been sitting around the Foxy Brown comeback. I have.

To me, The Brown Fox remains one of the greatest female MCs to ever touch a microphone. Everybody has their own Mount Rushmore. Some will say Lauryn Hill. Others will ride with Lil’ Kim, Nicki Minaj, or newer stars. But Foxy belongs in every serious discussion. Her confidence, delivery, and effortless swagger helped define an era that still influences the culture today. And she’s gorgeous.

The interesting thing is that Foxy never chased relevance. While so many artists spend years trying to remain visible through social media, interviews, or reality television, she simply stepped away. Outside of a handful of appearances and rumors over the years, she’s one of Hip-Hop’s biggest mysteries.

One person who has consistently kept in touch with her is Cormega. During a recent conversation, the Queens veteran revealed that Foxy has been hard at work recording new material and suggested that fans won’t have to wait forever to hear it. Coming from Mega, that carries weight. Yeah, Foxy is cooking.

All of this surfaced right after National Foxy Brown Appreciation Day slipped past a lot of us. Better late than never.

Could this lead to a proper album? A surprise single? Could Foxy make a surprise appearance during Jay-Z’s upcoming Yankee Stadium concert? If there was ever a stage built for an unforgettable reunion, that’s certainly one of them.

Nothing has been confirmed on that front, but I am craving something legit surprising!

The bigger story is that Foxy Brown is creating again. Her style has always been timeless, her presence undeniable, and her absence makes her the Black Mystique.

Legends don’t have to remind people who they are.

Just show up!
