Yung Filly Faces Ten Charges As Perth Trial Reveals Violent Assault Allegations

Yung Filly walked into a Perth courtroom on Sunday with the weight of ten serious charges hanging over his head, and the testimony that followed painted a picture of an encounter that spiraled from consensual to violent in a hotel room.

The British YouTube personality and rapper faced allegations spanning sexual assault, bodily harm, and strangulation as prosecutors laid out their case against him in what’s expected to be a two-week trial.

The 20-year-old woman at the center of the case had attended his performance at Bar 1 nightclub in Hillarys on September 28, 2024, believing she was heading to an after-party, but Yung Filly invited her back to the InterContinental Hotel on Hay Street instead.

Prosecutor Danielle Clarke told the court that what happened inside that room escalated into something the woman never consented to, with the defendant allegedly becoming increasingly aggressive and violent as the encounter progressed.

According to testimony, the situation shifted when Yung Filly allegedly began biting her neck, cheek, and breast with enough force to break skin. When she told him to stop, he continued.

He allegedly held his hand around her throat and struck her face repeatedly, demanding she say degrading things she refused to say. The woman described the biting as extremely hard and said he was strong enough to pin her hands down while hitting her face again.

The alleged victim told the court she knew she’d been sexually assaulted and raped, and the next morning she photographed her injuries and bruising. She later messaged him on Instagram claiming she’d left her car keys at the hotel, but she actually wanted him to see what he’d done to her. He never responded.

According to AllHipHop, Yung Filly is facing six counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault causing bodily harm, and one count of impeding someone’s normal breathing.

The YouTuber has built a massive following, with over 100 million video views across his platforms, and has charted two UK top 40 singles, one of which is certified silver for exceeding 200,000 units sold.

He’s known for his work with the YouTube collective Beta Squad and has appeared on the celebrity version of Bake Off and BBC Three shows.

Defense lawyer David Edwardson offered no opening statement, and the trial is expected to run for two weeks with testimony from multiple witnesses still to come.
