Rick Ross fired back at 50 Cent’s trolling over his album sales projections, defending the quality of his music over numbers.
The Miami rap mogul released his response after 50 Cent spent days mocking the first-week sales figures for Ross’s 12th studio album, Set In Stone, which dropped July 17 via Gamma and Maybach Music Group.
In his response, Ross emphasized that true Hip-Hop fans should focus on the actual music rather than getting caught up in what he called propaganda and fake bot numbers.
He stressed the importance of testing the product and evaluating how amazing the music actually is.
“Real Hip-Hop lovers should never get caught up in the propaganda and fake bot numbers,” Ross said. “True Hip-Hop lovers never get caught up in the propaganda and the fake bot numbers. Go to the product. Test it. How amazing is the music?”
The Boss dismissed 50 Cent making fun of his sales projections, saying he doesn’t care about the noise as long as people are spending money on the music. He emphasized that he’s focused on putting out quality music and letting that speak for itself.
“They bots. Commenting on the classic album with no posts. Who cares? I don’t give. Long as they spending money. Rozay putting the dope music out. That’s who fight my battles with the bots and all of that, Ross explained.
The feud between Ross and 50 Cent has been ongoing for years, but it reignited recently when 50 began posting about Ross’s album sales.
50 Cent mocked the projections, claiming the album moved only about 2,000 units. Projections show Set In Stone will move almost 30,000 units, but the G-Unit boss has been using the moment to troll the Miami mogul on social media.
Ross came out swinging at 50 in the weeks leading up to the release, publicly threatening to slap Fif with his million-dollar diamond-encrusted finger sleeve and trading shots with the Queens rapper.
The latest response shows Ross isn’t backing down from the ongoing beef, choosing instead to refocus on the music itself rather than engage in a numbers game.
Set In Stone features 19 tracks with appearances from T.I., Jeezy, French Montana, Gucci Mane, Don Toliver, and Kodak Black.
