WorldHotels Has Added a New Beachfront Resort in Roatan

WorldHotels has expanded its Caribbean portfolio with the addition of the Acqua di Mare Resort in Roatan, a resort property near the island’s renowned West Bay Beach, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The hotel is already listed as part of the WorldHotels Distinctive collection and is available through the company’s reservation platform, making the move an active brand affiliation rather than a future hotel opening.

The resort has 38 rooms and 36 suites across four floors, according to WorldHotels.

A New WorldHotels Resort Near West Bay Beach

Acqua di Mare is located on Kai Lind Way, a short walk from West Bay Beach, the white-sand stretch that has become the center of Roatan’s hotel, dining and diving scene.

The property’s location puts travelers close to the Mesoamerican Reef, where Roatan’s coral gardens and abundant marine life have made the island one of the Caribbean’s leading snorkeling and scuba diving destinations.

The resort also has its own dive center, along with a concierge desk that can arrange island tours and activities. Other experiences offered through the property include parasailing, dolphin visits, ziplining and golf.

Rooms, Suites and Condo-Style Accommodations

Acqua di Mare’s accommodations include traditional rooms, suites and larger condo-style units designed for families and groups.

The hotel’s two-bedroom Family Condos can sleep up to five people. Each has a primary bedroom with a king-size bed and private bathroom, along with a second bedroom containing two single beds.

The Superior Condos also sleep up to five people, with king-size beds in both bedrooms.

Both condo categories include two bathrooms, a living room with a sofa bed, a dining area, a kitchen with premium appliances and a private balcony.

WorldHotels lists in-room amenities including smart televisions, complimentary wireless internet, air conditioning, bathrobes, slippers, safes and turndown service. Some accommodations also include full-size refrigerators, ovens, stoves, dishwashers, microwaves and kitchen equipment.

The larger layouts should make the resort particularly attractive to families, couples traveling together and visitors planning longer Roatan stays.

The Pool and Dining

The resort has a year-round outdoor swimming pool with a swim-up bar, along with poolside service. WorldHotels also lists an indoor pool among the hotel’s amenities.

The property’s main restaurant is Wave, which serves international cuisine alongside dishes influenced by Honduran and Caribbean cooking. The restaurant also has a lounge with a cocktail program.

Acqua di Mare has a separate pool bar serving drinks beside the swimming area, while breakfast is available à la carte each day.

Room service is available daily, and the hotel is a full-service, smoke-free property with a 24-hour front desk, multilingual staff and concierge services.

Meetings and Events in Roatan

Acqua di Mare also has indoor and outdoor venues for corporate meetings, celebrations and other private events.

The resort can accommodate gatherings of between 10 and 50 people and offers food-and-beverage service for events. Wedding services are also available through the hotel.

WorldHotels’ Caribbean Expansion

Acqua di Mare is joining WorldHotels Distinctive, one of the company’s collections of independently owned upscale hotels.

WorldHotels is part of BWH Hotels, the parent company of Best Western Hotels & Resorts. The company said it has more than 40 hotels currently in development after adding approximately 100 properties in 2025.

“Every addition to the WorldHotels portfolio represents more than growth; it represents a shared commitment to excellence,” said Ron Pohl, president of WorldHotels.

Pohl said independent hotel owners are increasingly seeking international marketing, distribution and commercial support while retaining the individual character of their properties.

The Acqua di Mare affiliation gives WorldHotels a property in one of the western Caribbean’s most active leisure destinations, with a hotel product that mixes resort amenities, dive travel and residential-style accommodations near West Bay Beach.

The resort is already accepting reservations through the WorldHotels platform.
