Diddy’s release date from federal prison just moved up again despite him sitting in solitary confinement after a fight at Fort Dix FCI.
The BOP website now lists January 24, 2028 as his projected exit date, a month ahead of where the number sat before the fight.
He was tossed in the hole last week after a fellow inmate dissed him and things turned physical.
The backstory on how that fight started fills in a lot of context.
Sources said another inmate dissed Combs and things escalated into pushing and punches before guards broke it up.
Combs reportedly “held his own” in the scuffle, and a separate source told reporter Loren Lorosa he choked the other man out entirely.
This fight isn’t the first infraction Combs has caught at Fort Dix and the pattern matters. AllHipHop previously reported that he got caught drinking homemade prison h#### shortly after arriving in October 2025, a recipe built around Fanta, sugar and apples.
That was a rough look for someone who told the judge he’d been sober for 25 years.
Dr. DeWayne Hendrix, a former Associate Warden at MDC Brooklyn, told reporter Lauren Conlin what this fight actually means for Combs.
“Prior to this incident, Sean Combs appeared to be making positive institutional progress, with reports of good adjustment and programming participation reflected in changes to his projected release date,” Hendrix said. “Until the Bureau of Prisons provides details about what occurred, it’s impossible to know whether this was an isolated disciplinary issue or something more serious,” he added.
The clemency angle is where this fight does the most damage to Combs’ situation.
Hendrix addressed it directly: “If Combs is seeking executive clemency or a sentence commutation, decision-makers will review overall institutional record, and disciplinary issues are certainly among the factors they take into account.”
He closed with a pointed warning: “The timing of this incident couldn’t have come at a worse time, however, depending on the findings it may have meaningful impact on the final decision.”
According to Fox News, the BOP wouldn’t comment on disciplinary matters for individual inmates or explain why the release date moved up.
Combs was convicted July 2, 2025 on two Mann Act prostitution counts and sentenced in October to 50 months plus a $500,000 fine.
He walked on the bigger charges of sex trafficking and racketeering while his lawyers continue to appeal the conviction through federal court.
His attorneys argued in the appeal that the sentencing judge improperly factored in conduct the jury actually rejected when calculating the 50-month term.
