Treach has slammed the door on a Naughty By Nature reunion.
There was a time when he sounded like a possibility existed, but now he’s saying a definitive “never.” This is painful for longtime fans.
Really bad news, guys.
When AllHipHop spoke with Treach previously, I walked away feeling like there was at least a crack in the door. Maybe Treach, Vin Rock and DJ Kay Gee could eventually put whatever happened behind them and reclaim some of that Naughty magic.

Things havre changed and that optimism appears to be gone.
Treach recently spoke with Tony Yayo and Uncle Murda and made it clear that certain things have been done and said that he simply cannot recover from. This is a dramatically different temperature from what we heard before.
So, what happened?
From what I understand, some of this friction stretches back years. Treach and Vinnie reportedly had a physical altercation that remained private. Eventually, they managed to move beyond it. But an interview Vinnie had previously done later became public, revealing details about the confrontation after peace had seemingly been established.

That apparently created another fissure. A chasm, if you will.
There are additional layers involving business and personal matters that belong to them. Some family business should remain family business. Nevertheless, fans are watching because Naughty By Nature is not some random group that made a couple records together. They gave Hip-Hop classics, anthems and memories that remain embedded in the culture.
Vinnie has now responded to the public fascination and basically suggested everybody concentrate on building their own legacy.
He said:
“Listen people, here’s a word to the wise! If I were you, I wouldn’t get so wrapped up in NONSENSE! It’s BEEN stated that Naughty is set FOR LIFE!!!… You’re witnessing us pivoting and diversifying IN REAL TIME!!!
We have assets, equity and passive income to sustain us!
EVERYTHING ELSE is Gravy! Music made us Millionaires…
IP, PRODUCTS and Diverse Verticals can get one to Billy status.
I TOTALLY understand our TRUE FANS want to see the group as a whole. You all deserve it. Some things you CAN’T CONTROL!
if I were you, l’d focus more on YOUR OWN FAMILY’S FUTÚRE, LEGACY AND ASSETS!! If you’re REALLY SMART, you would find one of us and pick our brains!! I JUST put an owner of a Food Truck on to a Trademark attorney so they could protect their IP for FUTURE EXPANSION….

I understand his point. But fans are still allowed to care.
Treach appears serious about his solo movement, while Vinnie and Kay Gee continue moving together. Maybe that is simply where everybody needs to be right now.
Still, Hip-Hop is getting older. We are getting older. Time is undefeated.
I hope these brothers eventually find their way back to each other, even if it is not for an album, tour or payday. Because seeing Naughty By Nature rock together one more time would mean something.
And sometimes, that is enough.
