50 Cent Addresses Diddy Countersuit Over Netflix Footage Claims

50 Cent isn’t sweating Diddy’s latest legal move, and he made that crystal clear at a Manhattan event this week.

The executive producer of Netflix’s “Sean Combs: The Reckoning” sat down to address the countersuit Diddy filed against producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, alleging that stolen footage ended up in the documentary.

When asked about the lawsuit, 50 Cent kept it simple: he wasn’t named in it, and he thinks the whole thing is performative at best.

“I wasn’t named in the lawsuit,” 50 Cent said at the Planet Hollywood celebration in New York City. “To be honest, I think it’s postural.”

The comment came months after Diddy threatened legal action against Netflix before the series dropped in December 2025, but ultimately never followed through with a suit against the streaming giant.

Diddy’s countersuit specifically targets Jones, accusing him of stealing private footage intended for Combs’ own documentary project and selling it to Netflix.

The lawsuit also claims Jones made defamatory statements during his on-camera interviews for the series.

Despite the legal drama swirling around the project, 50 Cent expressed genuine satisfaction with how the documentary turned out.

He praised director Alexandria Stapleton for her work on the four-part series, saying she brought authenticity to the material without forcing anything.

“She made something that didn’t feel forced in any way,” he explained. “And people really appreciated it.”

The series went on to earn three Emmy nominations, including outstanding directing, outstanding documentary or nonfiction series, and outstanding picture editing.

50 Cent confirmed he’ll be attending the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards in Los Angeles this September.

Beyond the documentary, 50 Cent’s been on a business expansion kick that’s hard to ignore.

At the Planet Hollywood event, he unveiled a partnership with the iconic restaurant brand, launching PH Live, an entertainment venue inside the Times Square location.

He also introduced “50 Cent Faves,” a custom menu featuring his personal favorite dishes, including an $85 “Power Box” loaded with steak tips, mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes.

The collaboration represents his continued push into the entertainment and hospitality space, building on his already massive portfolio that includes the hit Starz franchise “Power” and its multiple spinoffs.

According to USA Today, 50 Cent revealed that he has eight projects either launching or receiving the green light this year alone.

“You’re going to see ‘executive produced by 50 Cent’ everywhere next year,” he said with his signature confidence.

Meanwhile, Diddy remains incarcerated and is expected to be released from federal prison in February 2028 after his conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
