If you’ve been watching Caribbean airfares lately, you know how difficult it has become to find a genuinely attractive roundtrip fare from New York to the region.
Here’s one worth watching: JetBlue is showing roundtrip fares from New York to Barbados for $428, for travel from Sept. 14-20, based on what we found on Google Flights.
In the current airfare environment, that’s a pretty good price for a nonstop trip to one of the Caribbean’s most popular destinations, particularly from New York.
The flight takes you from John F. Kennedy International Airport to Grantley Adams International Airport, putting Barbados within an easy nonstop trip for a late-summer Caribbean getaway.
September is also one of the quieter periods of the year in Barbados, meaning travelers can often pair lower airfare with more attractive hotel rates than they’ll find during the winter season.
And Barbados gives you plenty of different ways to build the trip. You can stay on the Platinum Coast for calm water and classic luxury resorts, head south for the beaches and restaurants around Rockley and St. Lawrence Gap, or make the trip about the island’s growing collection of boutique hotels.
The $428 roundtrip fare on JetBlue for Sept. 14-20 is one of the better New York-Barbados prices we’ve seen recently.
As always with CJ Flight Watcher, fares can change quickly and may vary depending on availability and fare class.
