JetBlue Is Doubling Its Fort Lauderdale–Santo Domingo Flights This Summer

JetBlue is doubling its service between Fort Lauderdale and Santo Domingo, adding a second daily flight on the route beginning July 9.

The increase brings total service to two daily flights between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Las Américas International Airport in Santo Domingo, expanding capacity on one of the airline’s top Dominican Republic routes.

What’s Changing on the Route

The additional frequency gives JetBlue expanded coverage across the day, with more departure options in both directions. The Fort Lauderdale–Santo Domingo route has remained one of the airline’s most consistent performers in the Caribbean, supported by strong year-round demand.

With twice-daily service, travelers gain more flexibility for shorter stays and easier connections through Fort Lauderdale, which continues to be a key gateway in JetBlue’s regional network.

Santo Domingo’s Growing Airlift

The expansion comes as Santo Domingo continues to see a sustained increase in airlift. Dominican Republic tourism officials have been actively positioning the capital as a destination in its own right, with a focus on its historic core, cultural institutions, and urban hotel product.

That push has translated into more flights from major U.S. gateways, particularly across Florida and the Northeast. Airlines have steadily added capacity into Las Américas International Airport, reflecting rising demand for city-based travel alongside the country’s established resort markets.

JetBlue’s move to double frequency on this route is part of that broader trend, adding more seats into a market that has been gaining traction over the last several years.

Positioning in South Florida

Fort Lauderdale remains one of JetBlue’s most important Caribbean hubs, with frequent service to destinations across the region. Increasing flights to Santo Domingo strengthens that network, particularly on short-haul international routes where frequency plays a key role in traveler choice.

The timing of the expansion, just ahead of the peak summer travel season, aligns with one of the busiest periods for travel between South Florida and the Dominican Republic.

For travelers, the added flight means more options each day to reach Santo Domingo, with increased flexibility on one of the region’s most active routes.
