ST MARY, Jamaica — The St Mary police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a man wanted in connection with the attempted murder of his 51-year-old common-law wife in Forte George, Annotto Bay, St Mary, on Sunday.
According to reports, the couple was at home shortly after midnight when an argument reportedly developed between them. During the dispute, the woman was allegedly struck in the head with an object and had a substance thrown onto her face. The man is said to have fled the scene following the incident.
The injured woman was discovered by a relative about 6:00 am and was taken to the Annotto Bay Hospital, where she was admitted in serious condition. She reportedly sustained severe head and facial injuries, along with extensive burns to her face.
The police were alerted and an investigation launched. Lawmen are conducting enquiries in Forte George and surrounding communities as they continue efforts to locate the woman’s common-law husband.
