GEORGETOWN, Guyana — The World Trade Centre Georgetown will host its International Trade and Investment Conference Oct. 19-23. This event will bring together business leaders, investors, policymakers and trade promotion organizations for a five-day program. The focus will be on expanding commercial opportunities in Guyana, the Caribbean, South America and global markets.
World Trade Centre Georgetown
The conference, to be held at the World Trade Centre Georgetown, 44 High St., Kingston, comes as Guyana’s rapid economic expansion continues. This growth draws international attention across energy, infrastructure, trade, technology, tourism and services.
Major oil and gas discoveries and rising production have reshaped Guyana’s economic outlook. This has created demand for investment, technology, innovation, infrastructure, expertise and international partnerships across multiple sectors.
The conference gives participants firsthand insight into Guyana’s business and investment climate. It will also create opportunities for direct engagement with public- and private-sector stakeholders involved in the country’s development.
Doing Business with Brazil
The program will also look beyond Guyana, with dedicated sessions on doing business with Brazil, Belize, and St. Kitts and Nevis. In addition, discussions will address trade, investment, market access and partnership opportunities in each market.
Sessions will focus on strategic sectors including agriculture and agribusiness, tourism, real estate development, artificial intelligence and digitization, the orange economy and other creative industries, financial services, logistics and air transport, import and export trade, and international business development. Participants will also take part in practical workshops. For example, there will be a session on the fundamentals of international trade research.
Keynote Speakers and Panelists
Scheduled keynote speakers and panelists include Dr. Vanessa Neumann, former Venezuelan ambassador to the United Kingdom; Guyanese-British singer, songwriter and recording artist Eddy Grant; international journalist Doreen Hemlock; and Volville Forsyth, former secretary of the Caribbean Development Bank.
“This conference is intended to connect opportunity with action,” WTC Georgetown said.
“As Guyana’s economy continues to expand, we are creating a platform where investors, businesses and policymakers can build practical partnerships that support long-term regional growth.”
The event will also mark the first anniversary of the official launch of the World Trade Centre Georgetown and underscores the organization’s role in promoting trade, investment, business development and international partnerships.
The conference will be held Oct. 19-23 at the World Trade Centre Georgetown, 44 High St., Kingston, Georgetown. The final day, Oct. 23, will feature site visits and an evening cultural presentation.
We will announce additional details on the program, speakers, and participation opportunities in the coming weeks.
