ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica — A construction worker who police say was a prominent member of a crime syndicate was fatally shot by cops and a firearm seized during an alleged confrontation at Goshen in St Elizabeth on Friday.
He is Ricardo Foster otherwise called “Richie feelings”.
Preliminary reports are that about 11:00 am police went in search of Foster at a construction site when he reportedly pulled a firearm.
Police opened fire and Foster was shot. He was taken to hospital and pronounced dead on arrival.
They said a .45 pistol containing five .45 cartridges was seized.
Police said Foster was known to them as a violence producer and was implicated in several serious offences.
He had also been listed by the police as a person of interest.
The police noted that Foster was a member of a criminal syndicate operating out of Goshen, Braes River, Elim, Mountainside, and several areas, particularly in the Santa Cruz policing area.
They said intelligence connected him and his criminal associates to organised crimes including the illicit guns-for-drugs trade, motor vehicle stealing rings, break-ins, and lottery scamming activities.
The latest incident by the police comes days after Jahmain Brown otherwise called “Dada” was fatally shot by police in Chocolate Hole near Junction, St Elizabeth on Monday night.
Police said a firearm was also seized during that incident.
