Baby Keem Talks Personal Growth & Overcoming Loss

Baby Keem Discussed Personal Growth, Kendrick Lamar Mentorship, and His Upcoming BET Awards Performance at BET Experience Media House.

Baby Keem just got real about what life’s taught him. He sat down with REAL 92.3 LA at the BET Experience Media House and didn’t hold back.

Loss, family drama, growing up fast; it all came pouring out.

“It’s been crazy, you know, I grew up a lot, you know? Yeah, grew up a lot and I think I’m better prepared for this life…I think not taking moments for granted, life for granted, people for granted, and making sure everything’s intentional with the people you love. And you know, every second that they’re breathing, make sure you appreciate them, you know what I’m saying?” he said.

That’s the thing about Keem right now. He’s learned the hard way that life doesn’t wait for anybody. One day you’re here, the next? You never know.

So he’s stopped sweating the small stuff.

“You just never know what might be thrown your way with family and things like tha, you just got to take in every second, you know, while people are breathing.”

When it comes to Kendrick Lamar, Keem’s got nothing but love. The Compton legend’s been showing him how to keep it grounded, and that means everything.

“He’s a real human, so it’s like everything’s just grounded,” Keem said.
