Donald Trump wanted to commemorate the United States’ 250th birthday with “the greatest show of all,” but that was all messed up on Saturday evening.
Mother Nature had other plans for America’s 250th birthday. Or God. The Universe!
What was supposed to be a coast-to-coast celebration of Independence Day quickly turned into a series of weather emergencies, evacuations and unexpected mishaps that disrupted some of the nation’s biggest events. These including appearances by President Donald Trump, Will Smith, State Property, Meek Mill, Christina Aguilera and The Roots. This was a blooper reel. Let’s walk through them all. (Read all the way down.)
In Washington, D.C., thousands packed the National Mall for President Donald Trump’s highly anticipated America 250 celebration. But as the big, ol’ ominous clouds rolled over the capital, officials ordered spectators to evacuate over concerns about severe thunderstorms.

Many in the crowd were reluctant to leave after waiting hours to clear security. Some booed as members of the U.S. Secret Service urged them to exit, while others (likely Proud Boys) chanted “USA!” and “We want Trump!” Military flyovers were even canceled as lightning and heavy rain moved into the area.

The weather had already wreaked havoc earlier in the day. Washington’s Independence Day parade had been canceled because of dangerous heat, and reports indicated dozens of people were treated for heat-related illnesses before storms complicated the evening festivities even further.
Philadelphia faced similar challenges.
The city’s Independence Day parade had already been called off because of the extreme heat. Then, as thousands gathered on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway for the One Philly: Unity Concert for America, severe thunderstorms forced organizers to pause the show.
Attendees were instructed to seek shelter while city officials monitored the weather. The concert featured performances from hometown favorite Will Smith, Christina Aguilera, The Roots and several other artists. Organizers said the show would resume only when conditions were deemed safe.
Meanwhile, New York City’s iconic Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular delivered one of the night’s most startling moments.

As fireworks launched from the Brooklyn Bridge over the East River, flames suddenly erupted on portions of the historic span. Videos shared across social media showed smoke rising from multiple sections of the bridge while fireworks continued exploding overhead. They felt the
“At first I thought it was supposed to happen but then I was scared it would exploded. I thought the bridge was made of wood so I was scared,” said Nearing Khoula to the NY Post. “There were four at the same time. Some extra fireworks exploded due to the fire.”
The weather forced organizers to cancel the sold out VIP viewing experience on Governors Island in NYC too. The high winds actually damaged the site.
There was one more:
On July 4 2012 in San Diego, California, 7,000 fireworks accidentally went off all at the same time.
What was supposed to be a 17 min show, lasted just 30 seconds, thanks to a computer glitch
It is one of the greatest firework shows of all time
Happy 250th birthday, America

The irony is so crazy.
From Washington to Philadelphia to New York City and the west’s San Diego, America’s landmark birthday celebration became a reminder that there is a higher power with a sense of humor.
Instead of a flawless national party, the country’s 250th Independence Day will be remembered as a Dystopian-like experience with thunder, lightning, scorching temperatures, evacuations, out-of-control fireworks and one of America’s most famous bridges on fire. There are others too.
Seems like most of the country has bad weather today. I am in Phoenix and it’s cloudy now.
