KINGSTON, JAMAICA — Dr Gabrielle Henry, Miss Universe Jamaica 2024, is set to make her first public appearance since her participation in the Miss Universe competition in 2025, where she was badly injured after an on-stage fall.
Miss Universe Jamaica made the announcement late Saturday, indicating that Henry will participate in the Miss Universe Jamaica 2026 Grand Coronation on Sunday, August 23, at the AC Hotel Kingston.
Henry spent much of her reign recovering from injuries she received while participating in the worldwide competition on November 19, 2025, in Thailand, including a fracture and intracranial haemorrhage.
She will return to the spotlight to crown her successor as Miss Universe Jamaica 2026.
Miss Universe Jamaica said the highly anticipated return is expected to be one of the defining moments of the Grand Coronation, bringing Henry back before a Jamaican audience as the organisation celebrates a new chapter in the country’s pageant journey.
Henry’s return comes as 33 contestants conclude their Miss Universe Jamaica 2026 journey, having competed for the opportunity to become Jamaica’s next representative at Miss Universe.
The competition stressed that for Henry, Sunday’s appearance represents a return to the public stage and a meaningful continuation of her Miss Universe Jamaica journey, this time with the responsibility of crowning the woman who will follow in her footsteps.
The Grand Coronation is expected to bring together personalities from Jamaica’s pageant, fashion and beauty industries, members of the media, industry leaders, special guests and supporters of the pageant community for an evening celebrating the women who have taken part in this year’s competition.
