Drake To Blame For Conor McGregor Massive Loss, According To The Internet

The “Drake Curse” has claimed another victim… at least according to the internet.

Drake dropped $1 million on Conor McGregor to defeat Max Holloway at UFC 329, but the bet unraveled almost immediately. McGregor’s long-awaited return to the Octagon lasted barely a minute after his knee appeared to buckle on his very first kick. The former UFC champion collapsed multiple times before the referee stepped in, awarding Holloway a first-round TKO victory. WTH!

The result instantly reignited one of sports’ favorite running jokes: the infamous “Drake Curse.” Drake’s high-profile wagers and public endorsements of gambling platforms have a mythical reputation whenever things go sideways. And tonight was a doozie. This was the main fight on the UFC card and it bombed incredibly.

This latest loss joins a growing list of memorable Drake betting disasters. Over the years, he’s lost sizable wagers on fighters like Israel Adesanya, Sean Strickland, Tyson Fury and Charles Oliveira. Earlier this year, he also reportedly lost $200,000 backing Jake Paul to beat Anthony Joshua. What was that about?

Of course, the curse isn’t undefeated. Drake has cashed in on some massive bets too. He is not always bad luck. Looking at his betting history, the “curse” is not as bad. But it is fun.

Still, you have to admit this one was different. Losing a million-dollar bet is painful enough. Watching your fighter suffer from a devastating knee injury within seconds of the opening bell? GAT DANG!
“Drake Curse” just got stronger.
