LAUDERHILL, Fla. — A star-powered Jamaica Independence celebration in Lauderhill is officially sold out. Reggae icon Marcia Griffiths and dancehall legend Beenie Man are set to headline the highly anticipated August 8 event.
The celebration will take place at The Lauderhill Performing Arts Center. It is presented by Jamaican-born Mayor Denise Grant and Commissioner John T. Hodgson.

“We are pleased to announce that our August 8 Jamaica 64th Independence Celebration, featuring the legendary Marcia Griffiths and Beenie Man, is officially SOLD OUT,” Mayor Grant said.
“This milestone reflects the hard work, dedication, and collaboration of our entire City team, production partners, and sponsors, who worked together to create a sophisticated, theatre-style experience worthy of this historic celebration,” she added.
“We thank our community for its overwhelming support and look forward to an unforgettable evening celebrating Jamaica’s independence,” Mayor Grant said.
