Stedman Bailey landed in a Florida jail after police accused the former NFL receiver of public sex inside a mall arcade.
Pembroke Pines officers arrested Bailey, 35, and Karina Manderson, 35, after the July 27 encounter at Pembroke Lakes Mall.
A witness interrupted the pair near the bar, while video allegedly showed Manderson bent forward with Bailey behind her.
Local 10 reported Bailey acknowledged “they both had their pants down,” although he insisted “penetration never took place.”
Police said both drank several shots at Round1, but investigators found no evidence anyone had tampered with their drinks.
Bailey and Manderson each face one misdemeanor count of exposing sexual organs, and neither allegation has been proven in court.
A first violation is a first-degree misdemeanor under Florida law, exposing a defendant to up to one year behind bars.
Long before the arcade allegation, Bailey built his name catching passes beside future NFL quarterback Geno Smith at West Virginia.
The Rams selected him 92nd overall in 2013, and he finished 38 NFL games with 59 catches and 843 receiving yards.
His college résumé included 41 touchdown catches, 3,218 yards and first-team All-American honors before his 2022 WVU Hall of Fame induction.
Bailey also joined four Rams teammates in the 2014 “Hands Up” demonstration supporting protesters after Michael Brown’s death in Ferguson.
His career ended after gunmen attacked his vehicle in Miami Gardens during November 2015, striking Bailey twice in the head.
“My cousin jumped on his kids and shielded them. He was shot 11 times in the process. I was shot twice in my head. My skull was shattered, and my career as a wide receiver with the St. Louis Rams ended,” Bailey said, describing the harrowing incident during an interview.
“Even though I lost my football career, I consider myself a walking miracle. I lived, and I don’t take my fate for granted.”
Bailey says, “It is my calling to share my story and to encourage young people to make good life choices.”
