St Mary senior found dead after leaving nine-night

ST MARY, Jamaica — Police in St Mary are investigating the circumstances which led to the death of a 62 y-o farmer from Enfield in the parish on Saturday.

Reports are that around 8:00am a resident discovered the senior citizen lying unresponsive in a gutter along a footpath bridge leading to his home. An alarm was raised and the police were called in. He was taken to the Annotto Bay Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

He was identified as Harold Wilson of School Lane, Enfield in the parish. Further police reports indicate that Wilson was last seen around 5:00am when he was leaving a dead yard in the community.

The police said that preliminary investigations revealed no signs of foul play. They added that Wilson had reportedly left the dead yard and was heading home when he fell.

Investigations are ongoing and a post mortem will be done to determine the cause of death.
