Eugene “Big U” Henley is smiling in newly surfaced prison photos, but the federal case surrounding the Los Angeles powerbroker has become considerably more serious. Very serious.
New images of Big U began circulating across social media this week, giving supporters their latest look at the G while he remains in federal custody. The pictures quickly generated conversation online, especially because they arrived shortly after his friend OG Big L offered an encouraging update about Henley’s condition. Recent photos attributed to Big U were circulating online by August 11.
According to OG Big L, he recently communicated with Big U and said his friend remains optimistic.
“HelsInGreatSpirits&Lookin real healthy & ready 4War..Don’t listen to the internet rumors trust me it’s only rumors without going in detail. Inshallah My Bro will be home soon… At the end of the day Allah has the last word and trust me he is on his Deen… “Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘Aalameen”” The last phrase means “All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds.” in Islam.
That message is certainly confident, but Big U has a heck of a legal fight ahead of him.

A superseding federal indictment recently added seven felony charges against Henley, including allegations that he solicited violence against a federal witness. Prosecutors allege Big U offered fellow inmates money to murder or seriously injure a witness expected to testify against him. These remain allegations, and Henley is entitled to the presumption of innocence.
The new accusations pile onto an already sprawling federal prosecution. Henley was originally charged in 2025 in a racketeering case alleging crimes including extortion, fraud and violence connected to what authorities have labeled the “Big U Enterprise.” He has pleaded not guilty.
And this thing is nowhere near finished.
Big U and six co-defendants are currently scheduled to face trial in February 2027.
So what should we make of the smiling prison pictures?
Probably exactly what they are. A snapshot. Big U may look healthy and his people may believe he is coming home, but federal prosecutors clearly have a dramatically different vision of his immediate future.
This battle will ultimately happen in court, not on the internet.
