Drake‘s YouTube channel got body-bagged by internet trolls this weekend, and whoever did it didn’t hold back on the irony.
The attack was part of a mass breach that hit major artists across YouTube and Apple Music on July 26 and 27.
Two unauthorized tracks landed on Drake’s verified page during the incident. One was Kendrick Lamar’s Grammy-winning diss track “Not Like Us,” and the other was a fake 1:47 troll upload titled “Kendrick a Meanie (Diss).”
The thumbnail for “Kendrick a Meanie” shows a figure rapping in what appears to be a children’s daycare. The lyrics contain such lines as: “What’s in my hand a spoon/you eat soup with a fork goof/what’s in my socks some cheese/you the left over nacho please”
Toy cars, stuffed animals and colorful plastic balls fill the background, and overlaid text directs viewers to follow two Instagram accounts. The caption reads “this is real yes” and “go check Kendrick’s response,” leaning fully into the joke.
It’s sitting under Drake’s name with the verified checkmark still on it.
The breach extended well beyond Drake’s channel, affecting over a dozen high-profile artists within the same window. Unauthorized uploads appeared on pages belonging to Kanye West, Playboi Carti, Travis Scott and several others.
Playboi Carti’s page took the worst hit, with more than 20 leaked tracks dropped at once, while Lamar’s channel briefly showed two unreleased songs.
Posts on X and Reddit were quick to clarify this wasn’t a traditional hack. Whoever pulled it off reportedly exploited a lax music distributor called OffStepMusic, using it to publish songs under artists’ names.
YouTube’s automatic matching system then routed those uploads straight onto official pages. One widely shared post on X made it plain: the attackers didn’t crack any passwords, they just found a service with “barely no moderation at all.”
Drake’s page drew the most attention because “Not Like Us” carries real weight in Hip-Hop history.
Kendrick Lamar released it in May 2024 as the final shot in one of the genre’s most intense feuds in years.
The beef blew up after Drake and J. Cole positioned themselves alongside Lamar as rap’s “big three” in 2023, and Kendrick rejected that framing immediately. Nine diss tracks followed, and “Not Like Us” landed the hardest of all of them.
The track went on to win five Grammy Awards and anchor Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime performance in February 2025.
Drake’s defamation lawsuit against Universal Music Group over the song was dismissed by a federal judge in October 2025, who ruled the lyrics were protected artistic opinion. Drake appealed that ruling, keeping the legal battle alive as it heads to the Second Circuit.
Neither Drake nor YouTube had released a public statement about the breach as of this writing, but users loved the song.
“Kendrick been real quiet since this dropped,” one user said. Another added “who here before this hits number 1!”
