The new Moon Palace The Grand – Punta Cana is now open in the Dominican Republic, bringing 16 restaurants, an O Spa, a Greg Norman golf course and a wide range of suites and villas to one of the Caribbean’s biggest all-inclusive destinations.
Punta Cana has another major all-inclusive resort — and this one is aiming big.
Moon Palace The Grand – Punta Cana is now open in the Dominican Republic, the newest Caribbean resort from Moon Palace Resorts and one of the most ambitious new all-inclusives to debut in Punta Cana.
The resort brings together 16 specialty restaurants, a Greg Norman Eco Signature golf course, O Spa, pools, beach experiences, water activities and an unusually broad collection of accommodations ranging from 635-square-foot rooms to enormous four-bedroom rooftop villas.
It’s a significant addition for a destination already home to one of the Caribbean’s deepest all-inclusive portfolios, particularly as Punta Cana continues to draw new luxury brands and increasingly elaborate resort concepts.
How significant? It’s got 2171 rooms.
A New Kind of Moon Palace
The Grand is designed as the top-tier Punta Cana expression of the Moon Palace brand, with a resort experience built as much around what you can do on property as the room itself.
There’s the golf course, designed by Greg Norman, along with O Spa, entertainment, water adventures and an extensive pool and beach program. Every room comes with either an ocean or golf view, according to the resort.
The culinary program is particularly large. The resort has 16 specialty restaurants, covering everything from Caribbean seafood and wood-fired Italian cuisine to sushi and a steakhouse.
It gives the property the kind of variety increasingly expected at the upper end of the all-inclusive market, where a week-long stay needs enough restaurants, activities and experiences to feel different from day to day.
The Rooms Start at 635 Square Feet
Even the entry-level accommodations are substantial.
The Grand Superior Deluxe Ocean View measures 635 square feet, with a whirlpool tub and 24-hour room service, while the similarly sized Grand Swim-Up Suite adds direct pool entry.
Families have larger options, including 1,291-square-foot Grand Family Suites accommodating as many as seven people. The Grand Presidential Suite is 1,980 square feet and also accommodates up to seven.
Then there are the villas.
The three-bedroom ocean-view villa spans 5,683 square feet and accommodates eight people, while the three-bedroom rooftop version expands to an extraordinary 8,804 square feet.
The largest option is the Grand Four Bedroom Rooftop Villa, a 10,946-square-foot residence designed for as many as 12 people.
It’s a room mix that gives the resort a particularly strong proposition for multigenerational trips and groups, two segments that have become increasingly important in Punta Cana.
What It Costs
The resort is already showing live rates for late-summer stays.
A five-night stay from Aug. 29 through Sept. 3 in a Grand Junior Suite Golf View was showing a promotional all-inclusive rate averaging $667 per night, or $3,335 total including taxes and fees, for two adults.
A Grand Superior Deluxe Ocean View was priced from an average $848 per night on the same dates under the resort’s pay-in-full offer.
The Grand Swim-Up Suite was showing from $1,106 per night, while the much larger Grand Governor Suite Ocean View was priced from an average $1,698 per night.
The resort is also running an opening-period offer of up to 25 percent off, along with $500 in resort credit, airport transfers and a kids-and-teens-stay-free promotion.
Direct reservations of four nights or longer can include complimentary roundtrip airport transportation.
A Major New All-Inclusive for Punta Cana
Punta Cana has spent decades defining the Caribbean all-inclusive vacation, but the market has changed quickly in recent years. Newer resorts are getting larger rooms, more ambitious culinary programs, more elaborate wellness offerings and a wider range of premium accommodations.

You can stay in a 635-square-foot ocean-view room, step directly into the water from a swim-up suite, bring an extended family into a multi-bedroom villa or make golf a central part of the trip.
