KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica’s triple jump Olympic Silver medallist Shanieka Ricketts has welcomed her first child, a baby girl, the athlete shared on Saturday.
In an Instagram post, Ricketts shared photos of the infant, named Shania.
“God has been faithful, and we are overwhelmed with gratitude that our bundle of joy is finally here! Shania Lee Ricketts came into our world and made us the happiest parents!” she said.
Ricketts and her husband Kerrylee Ricketts posed alongside baby Shania, whom the couple had revealed they were expecting several weeks ago, on their 10th anniversary.
Ricketts, who also holds two World Championships silver medals in the triple jump, was also named RJR/Gleaner Sports Foundation National Sportswoman of the Year in 2024.
