At the Nassau resort, kids are racing toward the FlowRider while someone orders a frozen drink at 12 Volt Bar. In Riviera Maya, there’s a beachfront brewery, three pools and an adults-only all-inclusive resort. Down in Costa Rica, you can spend a few hours zip-lining or fishing, then come back to a swim-up bar at Playa Flamingo.
The name on all three is Margaritaville, and its resort collection across The Bahamas, Mexico and Central Americahas become much more varied than the frozen-drink image might suggest.
You can choose a downtown Nassau resort with one of the Caribbean’s most entertaining hotel water parks, an adults-only all-inclusive in Riviera Maya, a family-friendly Mexican resort with four pools, or a 120-room Costa Rican property where surfing, diving and volcano trips are part of the vacation.
And in Roatán, another Margaritaville Island Reserve is now planned for 2027, adding a 150-room all-inclusive to Honduras’ Bay Islands.
The Margaritaville name connects them, although these are very different vacations.

Which Margaritaville Is Best If You’re Traveling With Kids? Start In Nassau
There are plenty of family resorts in The Bahamas. Margaritaville Beach Resort Nassau has something very few of them can match: an honest-to-goodness hotel water park in the middle of downtown Nassau.
Fins Up! Water Park has four slides, a lazy river, a zero-entry pool, a rock-climbing wall, a 10-foot jump platform and a FlowRider surf simulator. Admission is included with a stay. There’s also Parakeets Kid’s Club, plus the Icons entertainment center with bowling, billiards, karaoke, virtual-reality sports and a private movie theater.
You could easily make the water park the centerpiece of a family trip. The location adds another dimension.
The resort is at 2 Bay Street, close to the Straw Market and the center of Nassau. The Fish Fry at Arawak Cay is nearby, and downtown shopping, historic buildings and restaurants are all close enough to become part of your itinerary.
The main resort tower has 155 oceanfront rooms, including 12 suites, all with balconies.
Then there’s a second way to stay.
